Accountabilities:
- Perform geotechnical and construction quality control field testing and inspections, including compaction, concrete, rebar, and related activities.
- Support geotechnical drilling operations through field logging and documentation.
- Assist senior technical staff with multidisciplinary projects, including sample collection, preparation, and testing.
- Set up and conduct field and laboratory tests while accurately recording results and observations.
- Prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets, graphs, and documentation to support technical analysis.
- Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a strong health and safety culture during field, laboratory, and office activities.
- Assist with the preparation of technical deliverables, including reports, proposals, qualification packages, and project documentation.
- Participate in project coordination meetings, site planning discussions, and team activities.
- Maintain accurate records related to safety information, equipment calibration, manuals, and technical standards.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Travel to remote locations and project sites for extended field assignments when required.
- Technical diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling, testing, and inspection.
- Experience working with soil and aggregate materials, asphalt, and laboratory testing is preferred.
- Knowledge of geotechnical field procedures, construction quality control practices, and technical documentation.
- CSA, CCIL, or ACI certification is considered an asset.
- Ability to regularly handle material samples weighing up to 25 kg.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record, analyze, and report field data.
- Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for field assignments, including remote project locations.
