Why This Role Matters
We're looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to help build and maintain secure, reliable cloud infrastructure that supports our growing SaaS platform. You'll work closely with engineering and platform teams to automate infrastructure, improve security, and support reliable software delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, automation, cloud infrastructure, and security practices while continuing to grow their technical expertise in a collaborative startup environment.
Location: Remote — U.S only.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Support Kubernetes (GKE) environments and containerized workloads
- Assist with infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks
- Write automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Go
- Support deployment pipelines across development and production environments
- Implement secure infrastructure configurations following established security standards
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and security patching
- Support identity and access management (IAM) implementation
- Help integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and production systems
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues
- Contribute to observability through monitoring and alerting solutions
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and diagrams
- Collaborate with software engineers on deployment and operational improvements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical planning
- Contribute ideas for improving platform reliability and automation
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or DevSecOps
- Experience working in public cloud environments (preferably GCP)
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Linux administration
- Experience writing automation using Python, Bash, or Go
- Understanding of networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently within a collaborative engineering team
Nice to Have
- Exposure to SOC2 or ISO27001 compliance
- Experience with Ansible
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Experience supporting customer-hosted environments
- Exposure to observability tools and monitoring platforms
Tools & Technical Environment
Cloud environment running VMs with docker containers, GKE clusters and managed services, with an ongoing initiative to modernize the infrastructure further. IaC using Terraform, GitHub, Ansible and ArgoCD. Support for customer hosted installations involving various configurations.
Work Style
We operate as a remote-first, distributed team with a strong asynchronous culture. We value thoughtful communication, autonomy, and collaboration, with core working hours that partially overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.

The typical pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD [$130,000.00] to [$170,000.00] per year. PlexTrac utilizes different base pay ranges for different work localities, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently based on their home market. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the specific applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s work location. In addition to a candidate’s work location, an individual’s base pay will also depend on a number of factors, such as complexity and responsibility of the posted role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
