Role Overview
As a Field Project Manager for the Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. You will be responsible for setting up local project offices, defining scope and risk, coordinating resources, and managing project delivery from start to finish while keeping schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects from initiation through closeout.
- Set up local project offices and coordinate project scope, risk identification, project methodology, and resource allocation.
- Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present project updates, cycle status, and expected results to management and customers.
- Ensure projects are closed on time and within scope.
How You Will Do It
- Coordinate project progression from design through permits, material delivery, labor scheduling, and field installation, while staying close to the work and removing obstacles for customers.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan and conduct Work in Progress meetings to keep execution aligned with schedule and budget.
- Follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications, and own the outcome with accountability, safety, and integrity.
- Ensure AHJ requirements and departmental/SOX procedures are followed at every stage of delivery.
- Coordinate change orders, track impacts carefully, and look for opportunities for margin improvement on every job.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and customers, collaborating across functions and building trust to keep work moving forward.
- Look for opportunities to improve every day through practical problem-solving, candid communication, and disciplined follow-through.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or diploma in a related field such as Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security.
- 5 years of installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
- Expectation that Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be obtained within two years of employment.
- NICET Level II must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Project.
- Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros.
- Availability for frequent local travel.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,000 - 93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
