Position Summary

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) Division of Programs in Business (DPB) is seeking a Director, Academic Services who will lead the division’s Academic Services and Academic Advising unit. The Director oversees the administration of credit students’ academic services including admissions, registration, orientation, and academic advisement; supervise, hire, train, develop, and evaluate advisors; manage student-related academic probation and dismissal cases; resolve student-related administrative issues, such as grade appeals, and direct the credit and CE student grievance process to ensure prompt and fair resolution of academic and administrative problems; participate in strategic and academic planning for NYC and Global campuses programs, and policy review; and present and make recommendations to the Assistant Dean, Chairs, and Academic Directors based on findings. The Director will also serve as the divisional liaison to the Office of Student Affairs, Alumni Affairs, Wasserman Center, and other central administrative teams as needed.

 

This position is located in our Midtown Center, 20 W. 43rd Street.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree in a related field strongly preferred.Required Experience:7+ years progressively responsible experience in program administration or student services or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising administrative activities and overseeing staff and operations.Preferred Experience:7+ years in higher education and student affairsRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to develop and implement yield and advising strategies, supervise professional staff, and administer budgets. Excellent communication and problem solving skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience in higher education and student affairs

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $115,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
