The Commercial & Investment Banking (CIB) Controllers organization ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.
As an Entity Controller (LEC) within CIB, you are responsible for overseeing activities in legal entities, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial results and statements. The current opening is within GF&BM CIB Controllers in Mumbai, which is part of the CIB Line of Business (LOB) within GF&BM India.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor the integrity of books and records (both local and USGAAP) of the legal entity, in adherence with Legal Entity Control Standards and other applicable global policies
- Review FX open positions. Manage and mitigate foreign currency related exposures through FX trade-out. Analyze legal entity Balance sheet and P&L movements and explain drivers with appropriate business commentary. Present summary of LE financial performance to Senior stakeholders, Lead Controllers and LEC
- Production and review of financial information, Board reporting and other MIS functions. US Regulatory, statistical, and economic survey submission. Drive action & implementation of new guidance in partnership with central teams
- Develop operating models and policy framework through focus on specific control enhancement areas. Participate and drive key legal entity strategy and simplification programs through discussion and execution
- Validation and attestation of LEC owned general ledger balance sheet accounts. Liaise with firmwide Regulatory, Product Controller, Tax and other teams on various improvement projects to drive control actions. Contribute to overall team efficiencies by working on automation and digitisation agenda
- Handle auditors (both Statutory and internal), QA teams and regulators through effective query response and resolution. Review and present Statutory accounts for UK legal entities and drive actions to resolve queries
- Evaluate New Business initiative approvals and provide updates to LEC regarding impact to LE accounts and processes. Manage team learning & development and resiliency through continuous training and knowledge transfers.
- Prepare and submit weekly financial statements and liquidity reports for selected balance sheet items. Conduct quarterly P&L and balance sheet reporting, including onshore/offshore ratio-based analysis. Analyze legal entity and line of business results, including variance analysis, booking validation, and transfer pricing compliance.
- Partner with Financial Control, Tax, and other stakeholders on revenue allocation and transfer pricing updates, and work alongside regional controllers to resolve legal entity and line of business inconsistencies.
- Drive process transformation by leveraging advanced technology solutions and partnering with strategic technology development teams to achieve sustainable process improvements.

- Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and financial products. Knowledge of SAP, Axiom, WDesk. Knowledge of Excel, Alteryx, Qlik Sense, Python.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

- Knowledge of Excel, Alteryx, Qlik Sense, Python.
- Investment Banking product knowledge including derivatives, equities and debt securities would be an advantage
- Chartered Accountant with 4-7 years’ experience preferably with financial services industry and experience of US GAAP and IFRS
