Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, assessment, and implementation of enterprise-grade data architectures across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, including schema design, naming conventions, normalization, and referential integrity rules.
- Develop and maintain canonical data models, ER diagrams, and data dictionaries to support enterprise-wide consistency.
- Optimize database performance through advanced indexing strategies, query tuning, and workload analysis.
- Design and implement multi-tenant data architectures ensuring proper data isolation, scalability, and security.
- Manage database change control processes including schema versioning, migration scripts, and CI/CD integration.
- Collaborate with software architects and engineering teams to align data structures with application and integration layers.
- Integrate security, compliance, and governance requirements (e.g., RBAC, encryption, SOC2, audit logging) into database designs.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices guidance on database design and data engineering standards.
- 11+ years of overall experience in data engineering, database architecture, or SQL DBA roles.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including deep knowledge of schema design and database internals.
- Proven experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and database normalization techniques.
- Strong background in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies at scale.
- Experience designing and governing enterprise data models and enforcing data standards.
- Hands-on experience with multi-tenant architectures and data isolation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of database change management, CI/CD pipelines, and schema versioning practices.
- Familiarity with data security frameworks including RBAC, encryption, compliance, and audit logging.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working with data modeling tools such as Erwin, DbSchema, or similar.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, API-driven architectures, and microservices environments.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
