Health Unit Coordinator at Providence Medford Medical Center is 0.5 FTE part time position working during weekdays and weekends on an evening shift.

The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Coursework/Training - Medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experience. 
  • 1 year - Experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program.
  • Experience with a variety of software applications.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Coursework/Training - 1 year post high school education.    
  • Coursework/Training - Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework or equivalent educ/experience. 
  • National Certification Health Unit Coordinator upon hire. 
  • Experience as a preceptor/role model.
