About the Role
The Senior Tax Manager oversees all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting while serving as a key leader within the organization. In addition to managing client engagements and delivering exceptional service, this role will act as a site/office leader, helping to support day-to-day office operations, team leadership, culture, and coordination with Crete Professionals Alliance leadership.
This position is an integral part of a small, high-performing team and plays a critical role in both client service excellence and local office leadership, ensuring the firm operates efficiently while maintaining a strong, collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax & Client Service Responsibilities
Work in all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research
Work directly with sophisticated high net worth and UHNW clients, using superior communication and relationship-building skills
Demonstrate strong experience using tax software including CCH Tax, Practice, and Engagement
Maintain current knowledge of prevailing tax laws, regulations, and developments
Apply knowledge of tax, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific issues to identify client impacts and recommend appropriate strategies
Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including but not limited to Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate
Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team
Maintain superior attention to detail while managing multiple client engagements
Team Leadership & Development
Mentor, develop, and coach team members through training, delegation, and ongoing leadership support
Review work product and provide timely, constructive feedback
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of local team members as the firm grows
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment
Site / Office Leadership Responsibilities
Serve as a local site/office leader, helping to oversee day-to-day office operations and ensure a positive, professional work environment
Act as a point of contact for local team members regarding office-related needs, workflows, and coordination
Partner with firm leadership and Crete Professionals Alliance to support office initiatives, growth efforts, and operational improvements
Help reinforce firm culture, values, and performance expectations within the local office
Support change management initiatives related to technology, process improvements, and firm integration
Promote engagement, collaboration, and communication across the local team and broader organization
Proactive, self-motivated, well organized, and able to manage work effectively while maintaining strong client and internal relationships
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA
At least 7+ years of experience in a CPA firm
Experience with tax preparation and accounting
Experience in public accounting strongly preferred
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to professionally engage with high net worth clients, verbally and in writing
Proficiency with MS Office and tax software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with compiled and reviewed financial statements
Experience with ClickUp, CCH/Engagement, and QuickBooks
Prior experience leading teams or serving in a supervisory or office leadership capacity
Work Environment, Compensation, and Benefits
We are excited to invite talented individuals to join our dynamic team! This position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, this position offers a performance bonus, which will be paid at the discretion of the company, as well as the potential opportunity to participate in a long-term incentive program, subject to role scope, performance, and company discretion.
This position is preferred as an in-office role, reporting to our Scottsdale, AZ office 5 days per week. A hybrid work arrangement may be available for this position following successful onboarding and demonstrated performance.

Our salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
