Join Autodesk in Oslo as a Software Engineering Intern in Summer 2027

At Autodesk Oslo, we develop next-generation, AI-powered architecture design tools. Our teams build everything from advanced 3D web drawing to real-time analytics powering multiple Autodesk products. As a summer intern, you'll build software that helps shape the Forma Industry Cloud for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
About us

We're on a mission to help design better cities. With 90% of future population growth expected in cities and construction responsible for 40% of global CO₂ emissions, the AEC industry must evolve. We're building a new generation of cloud-based software that helps architects, urban planners, and real estate developers design sites and buildings in a new way.
Our Forma Design applications focus on outcome-based design, helping users weigh living quality (sun, daylight potential, noise, etc.), environmental impact (embodied and operational carbon), and profitability so they can find smarter, more sustainable solutions for their projects.
How we work

We work in small, autonomous teams that own their work and decide how best to build it. Engineers, product managers, and designers work side by side, collaborating across functions and time zones. We're an agentic-first organization, so working alongside AI tooling is part of how every team operates.
What you'll do

Over the summer, you'll work on a project that matters to your team, supported by experienced engineers. Your work is meant to ship and reach customers.
As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll:
Contribute code to our in-market product, used by architects, urban planners, and real estate developers worldwide

Own a meaningful project from idea through to a working result, with guidance from your team

Gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies, from web-based 3D frameworks to large-scale systems and cloud computing
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to solve customer problems
  • Take part in code reviews, design discussions, and the day-to-day work of an engineering team

We invest in your growth from day one. You'll work alongside engineers, designers, and product managers, building your skills in a supportive environment. You'll also work directly with AI-powered tools as part of how we build software.
Beyond your project, you'll be part of the wider team, joining meetups, workshops, and hackathons, and getting a genuine feel for what a career in engineering at Autodesk looks like.
Who should apply

This internship is for students who want to spend their summer building software with a supportive team.
Currently studying computer science, software engineering, or a related field (preferred), ideally in your penultimate year, though we welcome strong students earlier in their studies too
  • Solid coding fundamentals from coursework, projects, or earlier internships
  • Curious, collaborative, and comfortable taking initiative and working independently
  • Comfortable breaking down problems and delivering practical solutions
  • Motivated by our mission to design better, more sustainable cities
  • Eligible to work in Norway

Practical details: Paid internship · Full-time over summer 2027 · On-site in our Oslo office · Applications close end of September 2026
We review applications on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early.
Even if you feel you don't check off all the items on the list, we still encourage you to apply. Kindly note that applications must include a cover letter and a CV to be considered.
