As the Senior Network Delivery Lead - External Manufacturing, you will provide visionary senior leadership and drive the end-to-end direct material delivery strategy for our commercial product manufacturing operations. Primarily based in Rotkreuz, Switzerland - with flexibility for Suzhou, China - you will report to the Head of Delivery and manage a global team of over 10 direct reports. In this senior leadership role, you will collaborate closely with global and site stakeholders, the Procurement Center of Excellence, Category management, and global operations leadership to deliver Direct Procurement services and business partnering support across the global GO External Manufacturing Network.
The Opportunity
Strategic Business Partnering & Delivery: Act as the primary Procurement Business Partner at a global level for the External Manufacturing network, leading Delivery Managers and NPI Project Delivery Managers to translate senior business strategies into actionable procurement requirements for Category Management.
Supply Continuity & Quality: Secure the continuous supply of semi-finished goods (e.g., primary packaging, OEM Bulks) and finished goods (e.g., OEM Instruments, Consumables) to manufacturing operations, supply chains, and new product development projects.
Operational Excellence: Manage all direct procurement operations activities executed by the Procurement Center of Excellence, ensuring consistent value-delivery, supply contract compliance, and alignment with global Procurement strategies.
Governance & Compliance: Establish a robust network governance structure for efficient decision-making, serving as the ultimate escalation point for internal issues while ensuring strict compliance with quality standards, corporate audits, and legal risks.
Leadership & People Development: Provide effective line-leadership and coaching for a global team, managing performance, budgets, and succession plans to build a continuous talent pipeline.
Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, build consensus among diverse stakeholders to deliver on shared strategic goals, and elevate the strategic status of Procurement within the network.
Who You Are
Education & Experience: You hold a required Master's degree (preferably in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Life Sciences) and possess 15+ years of overall business experience in regulated industries, combined with 10+ years of in-depth procurement experience featuring extensive knowledge of operational and transactional activities.
Global Leadership Mastery: You are an inspiring, cross-cultural senior leader with demonstrated success navigating complex organizational matrices, leading global cross-functional organizations (>10 direct reports), and driving value improvement programs at a global level.
Procurement & Change Expertise: You bring proven capabilities in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management, alongside strong change management and process improvement skills with direct experience delivering complex business process or organizational changes.
Communication, AI & Digitalization: You possess excellent communication, teaching, and project management skills to explain complex concepts, set priorities, and deliver strategic initiatives. You also have a strong affinity for exploring AI-driven solutions and the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0), actively encouraging your team to advance their knowledge in AI applications.
Mobility & Languages: You have business-level fluency in English (fluency in the local site language, regional business language competence, and professional purchasing/finance certifications are desirable) and are willing to undertake frequent global travel (up to 30%) to supplier and Diagnostics sites to maintain strong network connectivity.
