You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone. In this role, you will drive outcomes for key government affairs and policy workstreams with limited guidance. You will serve as the primary point of contact for complex policy issues in the region, using your comprehensive knowledge of the local political ecosystem to balance immediate business needs against long-term objectives. You will manage ambiguous projects, streamlining new processes to turn complex issues into clear objectives. Your impact will be felt in how effectively you advance third-party relationships, guide concurrent program timelines, and leverage internal and external networks to advocate for user and business-friendly policy frameworks.Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect. **Responsibilities** + Partner with Legal, Marketing, Trust and Safety, and PR to integrate public policy priorities directly into product development and regional launches. + Represent Google before policymakers, industry peers, and key opinion formers to shape emerging dialogue on responsible technology policy. + Monitor, research, and analyze regional policy issues; design and execute comprehensive advocacy campaigns with clear, actionable goals. + Identify emerging legislative trends, evaluate their potential impact on Google’s users and business, and craft optimal, proactive solutions. + Translate complex technical details into clear policy narratives for external audiences, and communicate political/regulatory shifts to internal technical stakeholders.
