Manager - Facilities Management on Demand
The Manager for Facilities Management On Demand leads the delivery of comprehensive facilities management services across assigned client portfolios, ensuring operational excellence, and exceptional client relationships. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, service providers, and internal teams while maintaining high standards of service delivery across assigned portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders. Operational Leadership
Direct all aspects of facilities operations including preventive maintenance programs, reactive maintenance response, vendor management, project coordination, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure consistent achievement of contractual service level agreements and key performance indicators across all managed facilities. Implement operational best practices and standardized processes to drive efficiency and service quality. Oversee work order management systems and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all maintenance activities and service delivery metrics.
Vendor and Contractor Management
Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal value and performance. Establish vendor performance standards, conduct regular evaluations, and implement improvement plans when necessary. Manage vendor compliance with safety regulations, insurance requirements, and contractual obligations. Coordinate complex maintenance projects and capital improvement initiatives with external partners.
Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, environmental requirements, and company policies across all managed facilities. Lead implementation of comprehensive safety programs including training, inspections, incident management, and corrective action plans. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, certifications, inspections, and regulatory communications. Identify and mitigate operational risks that could impact service delivery, client satisfaction, or business continuity.
Strategic Planning and Business Development
Contribute to strategic planning initiatives for the FMOD service line, identifying market trends and opportunities for growth. Participate in proposal development and client presentations for new business opportunities. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop service offerings, pricing strategies, and operational innovations. Support implementation of technology solutions and digital transformation initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Reporting and Communication
Prepare comprehensive reports on operational performance, financial results, client satisfaction, and strategic initiatives for senior management. Deliver clear, timely communication to clients regarding service delivery, incidents, projects, and performance metrics. Present business reviews and strategic recommendations to client executive leadership. Maintain transparency and proactive communication with all stakeholders to build trust and alignment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in facilities management, property management, or construction services, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role. Proven track record managing complex, multi-site portfolios and leading cross-functional teams. Experience in client-facing roles with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
Technical Knowledge
Comprehensive understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building automation, and energy management systems. Strong knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance standards. Understanding of sustainability practices, LEED certification, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent organizational and time management abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with diverse audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software platforms. Strong customer service orientation with commitment to client satisfaction.

Working Conditions
This position requires regular site visits to client facilities, which may include construction sites, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and other property types. Physical requirements include ability to walk extensive distances, climb stairs, and conduct detailed facility inspections. Some evening or weekend work may be required to address urgent facility needs or support client requirements.
