Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of enterprise storage platforms across classified production environments, including architecture, deployment, optimization, and decommissioning

  • Enforce SCAP/STIG compliance and security hardening across all managed systems
  • Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and REST APIs to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Manage SAN fabric infrastructure (Fibre Channel, Brocade, Cisco) and network-attached storage protocols (SMB/CIFS, NFS, iSCSI)
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex storage, server, and infrastructure issues across the enterprise
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers as needed
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for mission-critical infrastructure support
  • Conduct technology refresh planning and execution, including hardware lifecycle management and EOL migrations

  • Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms at petabyte scale (Dell EMC PowerScale/Isilon, NetApp ONTAP, or equivalent)
  • Strong expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions (Commvault, Veeam, or equivalent) including DR design and recovery testing
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V) and hyperconverged infrastructure (Nutanix, VxRail)
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) administration in classified environments
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management in air-gapped networks
  • Knowledge of SAN fabric technologies (Fibre Channel, Brocade, Cisco) and storage protocols (SMB, NFS, iSCSI)
  • Experience with SCAP/STIG hardening and federal security compliance in classified environments
  • Strong automation skills (PowerShell, scripting, REST API integration)
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Active TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale certification or equivalent storage vendor certification
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent
  • Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), DoW or IC programs
  • AWS experience (S3, EC2, VPC, IAM) and on-premises-to-cloud migration experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in classified environments
  • Familiarity with Cohesity data protection and management platforms
