Ocean Export Procurement Manager (Americas)

Robinson is seeking an Ocean Export Procurement Manager who will help drive business growth by securing competitive ocean freight rates, capacity, and supplier solutions that meet customer needs. Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead ocean export procurement strategy by aligning carrier relationships, customer needs, and business goals across regions
- Partner with senior leadership, commercial teams, sales, and account management to support ocean freight growth plans and customer success
- Work closely with pricing teams to provide strategy on pricing transactional business, and for larger opportunities design solutions tailored to the customer needs
- Secure competitive freight rates, capacity, and weekly or monthly space allocations across assigned trade lanes
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strategic relationships with key shipping line contacts to support service, pricing, and capacity needs
- Manage rate contracts, annual volume commitments, and contract filing processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness
- Serve as the primary liaison with shipping lines to resolve service issues, improve performance, and support customer expectations
- Act as the ocean export subject matter expert, providing guidance to commercial teams and participating in customer-facing discussions when needed
- Support regional RFQ efforts by providing competitive buying and selling rates for bids and key opportunities
- Analyze market trends, benchmarking data, and industry best practices to improve procurement strategies, tools, and methodologies
- Audit rate filing activity and partner with support teams to ensure freight contract management systems are accurate and up to date
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 6 years of previous ocean/air procurement or transportation experience
- Ability to work flexible schedule on occasion, some night and weekend hours may be required
- Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and/or internationally)

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Strong organization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present, influence, and consult with multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels

- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong prioritization and time management skills

- Demonstrated quality review experience
- Six Sigma, CSCP and process improvement experience

Compensation Range
$77,000.00 - $173,600.00The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
