Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapy Assistant, you will provide compassionate, personalized care in the home, under the direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the physician's plan of care.  Our skilled staff improve lives by providing care for our patients wherever they call home.  We are focused on caring for patients recovering from injuries, living with a chronic illness, and other medical needs. 

 

Every day, you will provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.

 

To thrive as a physical therapy assistant, you must be a team player. You’ll constantly collaborate with other therapy staff, patients, and their families to seek the best possible treatment outcome. You should be personable, positive, and motivated to provide quality care to a wide variety of patients every day.

  • Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance
  • Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
  • Observes and reports to the physical therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient’s condition
  • Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
  • Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical record within 24 hours of patient care
  • Participates in Home Care team meetings and in-service Education Program

 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by the Amerian Physical Therapy Association
  • Licensed to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant within the State of ND and MN
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification
  • Current Driver’s license
  • Auto Insurance
