What You Will Do
Guidehouse is seeking a highly capable Senior Network Engineer to support a large-scale federal enterprise infrastructure program operating within secure and classified environments.
This role requires a hands-on network engineering professional capable of designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure that enables mission-critical operations across geographically distributed environments.
The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with operational experience supporting routed and switched environments, network security technologies, classified infrastructures, virtualization platforms, and modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations.
- Configure and support network routing, switching, segmentation, and traffic management services across complex enterprise environments.
- Engineer and maintain secure network architectures supporting classified, distributed, and multi-site environments.
- Support enterprise network technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, encryption devices, and network monitoring platforms.
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and operational health while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Perform network upgrades, technology refreshes, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure modernization, and lifecycle management activities.
- Support implementation of network security controls, segmentation strategies, access controls, and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex network incidents and serve as an escalation point for high-priority operational issues.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, cloud, application, and operations teams to deliver integrated technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, network design discussions, change management processes, and infrastructure planning activities.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, implementation guides, operational procedures, configuration standards, and engineering documentation.
- Support continuity of operations, disaster recovery, resiliency, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
What You Will Need
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree or four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Six (6)+ years of experience engineering and deploying complex enterprise IT systems and network infrastructure.
- Experience supporting enterprise routing, switching, network security, and connectivity services.
- Experience supporting Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.
- Experience designing and supporting secure enterprise networks within compliance-driven environments.
- Experience with network troubleshooting, performance analysis, traffic management, and operational sustainment activities.
- Experience implementing network security controls, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure hardening, and secure architecture principles.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Security+ certification.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting classified, national security, intelligence community, or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience supporting network firewalls, IDS/IPS platforms, NAC solutions, SIEM integrations, and encryption technologies.
- Experience with network automation technologies and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting cloud networking within AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, RMF, STIGs, continuous monitoring, and ATO processes.
- Experience supporting geographically distributed enterprise environments with high availability and resiliency requirements.
