Your Mission:
Nuvei is looking for a Legal Operations Specialist, Technology & AI to join its Legal Department. This is a new role, created to bring dedicated technical expertise into a legal function that has been actively building out its processes and tools. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is a self-starter, enjoys taking ownership and is eager to drive meaningful change.
The person in this role will be responsible for the systems and automation that support Nuvei’s legal team. That means configuring and maintaining legal technology platforms, connecting them to the enterprise tools the business already uses, and leading the build of automated workflows that reduce manual effort. Where processes are slow or manual, this person will work with lawyers and legal ops colleagues to understand the problem and fix it.
The role sits within the Legal Department and works in close collaboration with Nuvei’s IT, Product and AI/Innovation teams. This is not an isolated function. The expectation is that this person can gather requirements from lawyers and legal colleagues and then work across those technical teams to deliver solutions.
AI is part of the toolkit. The role includes building AI-assisted workflows on top of existing platforms, including contract redline tools, document intake automation and AI-powered assistants for the legal team.
A legal background is not required, but comfort working in a legal and regulated environment is important. This role will suit someone with 5+ years of experience in a business systems, operations technology or enterprise SaaS environment who is technically hands-on and curious about AI.
Responsibilities:
The role covers three areas. The scope and balance of work will evolve as the function grows.
Systems, Integrations & Process Improvement
• Configure, administer and maintain legal technology platforms including CLM, matter management, document management and e-billing, working within Nuvei’s existing enterprise environment.
• Build and maintain integrations between legal platforms and other systems used across the business, including Salesforce, SharePoint and Power BI, working with IT and Product teams on technical requirements and architecture.
• Work with lawyers and legal ops colleagues to identify where processes are slow, manual or error-prone; map those workflows and implement improvements.
• Assess gaps between current platform capabilities and what the legal team needs; recommend and deliver solutions.
• Produce process documentation, business requirement documents and functional specifications.
• Support the evaluation and selection of new tools, providing technical input on integration requirements and platform fit.
Automation & AI Tools
• Build automated workflows such as Power Automate or equivalent, reducing repetitive manual tasks across the legal function.
• Develop AI-assisted tools on top of legal platforms, including contract automation, document intake workflows, watched-folder triggers and Copilot-based tools for the legal team, in collaboration with Nuvei’s AI and Innovation team.
• Connect AI tools to existing systems via APIs; manage prompt libraries, workflow configurations and documentation.
• Support the Legal Department in adopting new tools, including training and troubleshooting.
Reporting & Data
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI or equivalent, covering workload, contract cycle times, team performance and other operational metrics for legal leadership.
• Analyze operational data to identify patterns, surface inefficiencies and flag automation opportunities.
• Define and track KPIs for the legal function, working with legal colleagues and the BI team.
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in business systems, operations technology or enterprise systems role, with a track record of configuring SaaS platforms, building integrations and driving technology-enabled process improvements.
• Practical experience configuring and administering enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, SharePoint and Power BI, including connecting them to other systems through automation tools and APIs.
• Experience leading or championing cross-functional projects, influencing stakeholders, and driving change in environments where collaboration, initiative, and ownership are critical to success.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process problems, map workflows and deliver solutions that reduce manual effort.
• Able to gather requirements from non-technical colleagues and translate them into working technical solutions.
• Strong analytical skills; comfortable with data, reporting and using metrics to guide decisions.
• Clear and direct communicator, able to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Assets
• Experience with legal technology platforms including contract lifecycle management and matter management tools.
• Experience building workflows that incorporate AI tools - for example, automating document review, intake or routing using platforms like Claude, Microsoft Copilot or similar.
• SQL, data modeling or scripting experience in Python or JavaScript.
• Background in a regulated industry, particularly fintech, payments or financial services.
• Experience working in or supporting an in-house legal or compliance team.
• Familiarity with AI governance or responsible AI practices in a business context.
