---------------------------------------------------------

Let’s Talk About the Role

The NPI Program Manager – PAC will lead the execution of New Product Introduction programmes across the Protection, Automation and Control portfolio within Grid Automation and Software.

This is a programme execution role, focused on overseeing a portfolio of product development projects from early assessment and project initiation through to commercial launch. Each product initiative may have its own project manager, typically connected to R&D or Engineering. The NPI Program Manager will sit across the portfolio to ensure alignment, visibility, governance, execution discipline and timely escalation.

Working closely with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Industrialisation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, Services and regional teams, you will help transform product strategy into executable plans and successful market introductions.

You will act as a key execution focal point: removing blockers, ensuring project managers and workstreams remain aligned, tracking programme health, supporting decision-making, and keeping senior stakeholders informed through clear reporting and governance.

This is a role for someone who thrives in complex, global, matrix environments; brings structure to ambiguity; and knows how to keep diverse technical, operational and commercial stakeholders moving in the same direction.

---------------------------------------------------------

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Lead programme-level execution across a portfolio of NPI and product development initiatives within the PAC portfolio.
  • Oversee project execution from early assessment, planning and stage-gate governance through to launch readiness and commercial release.
  • Ensure project managers and workstreams are aligned on priorities, milestones, deliverables, dependencies and critical decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activity across Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Industrialisation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, Services and regional teams.
  • Remove execution barriers, facilitate timely decision-making and escalate critical issues where required.
  • Establish and maintain integrated programme plans covering technical development, industrialisation, validation, certification, manufacturing readiness and commercial launch.
  • Monitor programme health through milestone tracking, schedule performance, budget monitoring, risk management and executive reporting.
  • Build and maintain programme risk registers, identifying technical, operational, commercial, regulatory, supply chain and resource risks.
  • Organise programme reviews, gate reviews, steering committee meetings and senior stakeholder updates.
  • Coordinate launch readiness activities, including manufacturing readiness, training, documentation, certifications, product data, service enablement and commercial release.
  • Support the transition from development into sustaining operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of NPI governance, execution methodology, planning practices and programme management processes across the portfolio.

---------------------------------------------------------

Skills for Success

You should be a highly organised, execution-focused programme leader with experience bringing complex technical products through development and launch.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience leading complex technical projects, product development programmes or engineering programmes.
  • Strong experience in New Product Introduction, product development, technical programme management or software/digital product programme management.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or workstreams while balancing competing priorities.
  • A strong understanding of product development lifecycles, stage-gate governance and structured programme execution.
  • Experience working across globally distributed teams in a matrix organisation.
  • The ability to influence without direct authority, building alignment across technical, operational, commercial and regional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise and business-relevant updates to senior leaders.
  • Strong risk management, issue resolution, planning and stakeholder management capability.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet or similar.
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.

---------------------------------------------------------

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading technical projects or engineering teams.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex New Product Introduction, product development or technical programme management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex cross-functional programmes in industrial, electrical, software, automation, energy, digital, electronics, telecoms, automotive, medical devices or similar technical environments.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-PgMP, Agile or equivalent programme/project management certification.
  • Experience within electric utilities, power systems, protection and control, substation automation or industrial digitalisation.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software integrated product development and global product launches.
  • Experience working in multinational engineering organisations.

Where and How You’ll Work

This is a permanent position. Stafford, United Kingdom is the preferred base location, with hybrid working preferred where practical and regular connection to a GE Vernova site encouraged.

Other approved GE Vernova locations may also be considered, subject to business needs, local employment requirements, right-to-work eligibility and compensation alignment.

For an exceptional candidate with the right experience and capabilities, a fully remote arrangement may be considered, subject to business needs, role requirements and local employment arrangements.

Candidates located close to key R&D, engineering or PAC project hubs may be particularly well aligned, as this role will involve regular interaction with project managers, R&D teams and cross-functional delivery teams.
