Stuff Digital is growing its network of freelance contributors and is seeking expressions of interest from experienced journalists, writers, content creators and video storytellers who would like to work with our Stuff Life team.
We are looking for creative, curious and ambitious people who can deliver engaging, high quality content with a distinctly Stuff perspective. Whether you specialise in features, lifestyle, wellbeing, food, travel, relationships, parenting, culture, personal finance, video content or emerging trends, we want to hear from you.
At Stuff, we champion Aotearoa, connect deeply with our audiences and create content that informs, entertains and sparks conversation.

What we're looking for

You may be an experienced journalist, freelance writer, content creator, videographer or multi-skilled storyteller who can:

• Develop fresh, original story ideas that resonate with New Zealand audiences
• Respond to and deliver against editorial briefs commissioned by Stuff editors, translating concepts into engaging, audience-focused content that meets agreed objectives, deadlines, word lengths, and quality standards. 
• Produce compelling written, video or multimedia content
• Create accurate, engaging and audience-focused stories
• Meet deadlines and work collaboratively with editors and commissioning teams
• Bring a strong understanding of digital publishing, audience engagement and social platforms
• Use modern content creation tools, including AI-assisted research, production and workflow tools, while maintaining high editorial standards and journalistic integrity
