The Role

Your role
As a Security Operations Specialist, you will support the continuous protection of Kyndryl and customer environments by monitoring, detecting, and responding to security events. Your role will focus on day-to-day security operations, incident handling, and operational controls that reduce risk and improve resilience. Success is demonstrated through timely detection, clear incident documentation, and effective coordination with technical and business teams.

What you will do
•Monitor security alerts and event data from security platforms to identify potential threats
•Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents following defined runbooks and escalation paths
•Perform initial analysis to determine scope, impact, and urgency of incidents
•Execute containment actions such as isolating systems or blocking access under approved procedures
•Maintain accurate incident records, timelines, and evidence to support reporting and reviews
•Support vulnerability management activities, including validation and tracking of remediation actions
•Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations processes, playbooks, and controls
•Collaborate with internal teams and customers during incident response and post incident reviews


Who You Are

Required skills and experience

•Hands on experience in security operations, incident response, or a security operations center environment
•Practical knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as SIEM, EDR, or network security platforms
•Experience analyzing security events, logs, and alerts to identify threats and false positives
•Understanding of common attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and threat categories
•Ability to follow documented procedures, escalation paths, and evidence handling requirements
•Experience documenting incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in a structured manner
•Familiarity with basic networking, operating systems, and identity concepts

Preferred skills and experience

•Experience supporting customer environments in a managed services or service provider context
•Exposure to vulnerability management or threat intelligence workflows
•Experience participating in incident simulations, tabletop exercises, or post incident reviews
•Relevant security certifications or formal security training
