You will report to engineering manager based in Singapore.

Job Description

As a Senior Software Test Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will work together with a team. This team consists of product managers and software developers. Together, you will develop industry-leading commercial software known for its innovation and usability. You will develop test strategy and creating test plans to ensure the quality of the products.

You will be a necessary player in feature design, implementation, and testing. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams and may also require you to be the technical lead of a small-scale feature or portion of a feature.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will Develop test plans for new features or contributes to existing ones ensuring they meet the established requirements.
  • You will Establish a timeline and determine the resources needed to accomplish a test plan.
  • You will Consider tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost and coverage.
  • You will Provide progress reports.
  • You will Create test cases and related documents that meets the product quality requirements, including traceability.
  • Create test automation plans and automate required test cases.
  • Conduct manual or automated tests, reports anomalies, and characterise the anomalies-based company quality criteria.
  • You will Lead reviews of requirement documents, test cases and user documentation.
  • You will Build relationships and talk with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritised.
  • You will Take the lead on identifying and recommending software development capability improvements in software development practices, development tools, and test automation.
  • You will Think outside the box and be willing to research and explore new avenues to using the latest technologies and standards.
  • Leverage on AI tools to:
  • Improve test design and coverage analysis.
  • Accelerate automation development.
  • Enhance defect analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Improve test data generation.
  • Improve overall testing productivity and quality outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into quality engineering processes.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Typically requires five years of experience in a software product development environment
  • Direct experience creating test plans and test cases for web applications; familiar with manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Direct experience in test case management and automation using QTest

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience testing engineering software, industrial automation software, or desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including Structured Text (ST), Ladder Diagram (LD), and Function Block Diagram (FBD).
  • Experience testing Angular-based applications.
  • Direct experience with Agile software development process, experience of Scrum Master.
  • Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry
  • Direct experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams
  • You have Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners skills
