Job summary
As a Vice President in the Operational Due Diligence team within the Investment Research Team in Wealth Management Investment Solutions, you will help assess and monitor third-party investment managers by evaluating operational risks that can impact client outcomes. You will lead and support due diligence efforts across alternative strategies (including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, private credit, and venture capital) as well as traditional long-only managers. You will work directly with internal control partners and engage with external managers to understand their infrastructure, controls, and processes. You will contribute to committee materials and discussions by presenting clear analyses and well-reasoned opinions. Job responsibilities
- Support operational due diligence reviews of alternative investment managers and traditional long-only investment managers
- Develop and disseminate operational due diligence questionnaires across investment strategies and products
- Request, review, organize, and retain relevant documentation within CRM tools
- Prepare for and participate in due diligence meetings with third-party investment managers, including travel across Europe and Asia
- Evaluate operational risks across areas such as organizational infrastructure, counterparties, service providers, valuation processes, cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Review and score questionnaire responses to identify key strengths, gaps, and follow-up items
- Collaborate with governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit partners to support aligned risk oversight
- Represent the firm with senior executives (including COO, CFO, CCO, and CTO) at third-party fund managers
- Present analyses, findings, and opinions at Investment and Governance Committee meetings
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated experience conducting, supporting, or critically reviewing operational due diligence for alternative investment managers
- Relevant background in operations, audit, compliance, and/or consulting (e.g., asset management, audit/advisory, management consulting, regulatory agency)
- Strong understanding of financial markets and a range of security types
- Strong understanding of investment strategies and fund structures
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with close attention to detail
- Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative, energy, and confidence in delivering assignments end-to-end
- Willingness and ability to travel for in-person due diligence meetings across Europe and Asia
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience engaging directly with C-level stakeholders at third-party firms and communicating effectively in high-stakes settings
- Experience preparing materials and presenting to investment, governance, or risk committees
- Familiarity with evaluating operational risk topics such as valuation oversight, service provider risk, and cybersecurity controls
- Experience working in a multi-region environment with stakeholders across Europe and Asia
