Operations Technician - Mining Data Center
Location: Rockdale, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | Compressed Work Week (Day or Night Shift)
If "let me take a look at that" is your favorite sentence, keep reading. Some people talk about how things work. We're looking for someone who makes them work.
About Us
Our Rockdale facility is a hands-on environment where technicians keep cutting-edge machines running around the clock. It's active, it's team-driven, and it rewards people who like solving real problems with real tools — not sitting behind a desk.
We're part of a global operation spanning Bitcoin mining and cloud services, and we're on the hunt for sharp, hands-on technicians who like working with their hands and staying on the move. If you'd rather be walking the floor with a toolkit than stuck in an office, you'll feel right at home here. Curious about the tech you'd be working with? Take a look at www.bitdeergroup.com.
About the Role
As a Computer Maintenance Technician, you'll perform highly diversified duties — installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment — following safety, predictive, and productive maintenance processes that support the site's goals. This is a physical, hands-on role: you'll be on your feet, walking the floor, and working directly on the machines, not sitting behind a desk.
Shift Options
We run a compressed work week, so you work fewer, longer days:
- Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (+$2/hour shift differential)
- Shifts are 12 hours, except Wednesday, which is a 6-hour shift
What You'll Do
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test/adjust equipment with time-sensitive urgency
- Install and maintain production machines ("miners") and plant facility equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during service windows
- Physically supervise mining machines and network equipment
- Operate and manage heat dissipation (cooling) equipment daily
- Assist with configuration and deployment of replacement machines
- Respond to power failures, network issues, and overheating events to keep machines running stably
- Tag assets and keep asset tracking software logs current
- Provide daily reports on equipment operations and maintenance
- Analyze facility workflows and issues to help improve operational efficiency
- Contribute to technical reports and the team's operations/maintenance knowledge base
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Solid understanding of software tools, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Docs, inventory management, and machine monitoring software
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your hands
- Strong work ethic, results-driven mindset, and ability to learn and analyze quickly
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in an environment with regular exposure to heat, noise, and vibration
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the shift, and to frequently lift/move items over 50 lbs
Preferred (not required):
- Technical degree in a computer-related, electronic, or electrical field
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience
Additional Information
- A background check and drug screening will be required for final hire.
- Please review the shift structure carefully — this is a compressed work week with 12-hour shifts (6 hours on Wednesday).
