The Opportunity


That's where you come in. We're looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to drive both team and individual success as a Manager, Business Development. It’s an exciting opportunity to help drive our growth, scale our efforts, and seize new opportunities in this exciting phase!  
In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of BDRs, focused on sourcing and qualifying opportunities for our Account Executives, while also contributing to pipeline growth and overall revenue impact. You will be responsible for setting clear performance goals, providing ongoing coaching and development, and building a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

What You’ll be Doing


  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of BDRs, establishing a culture of performance and collaboration.
  • Lead the team in driving pipeline generation and deal progression by guiding strategy, coaching execution, and reinforcing best practices.
  • Develop and execute inbound and outbound sales strategies to maximize qualified pipeline creation, conversion rates, and overall revenue growth.
  • Oversee and optimize the lead qualification process, ensuring seamless handoffs to Account Executives and alignment on ideal customer profiles.
  • Monitor and analyze individual and team KPIs, providing coaching, feedback, and recognition to ensure goals are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee accurate reporting of leads, pipeline, and forecasts, ensuring visibility and accountability to sales leadership.
  • Design and implement training and coaching programs to strengthen sales skills, enhance productivity, and support professional development.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align prospecting efforts with company objectives and maintain a consistent customer journey.
  • Refine sales processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market developments, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making and maintain competitiveness.

What You Offer Blue J 


  • You bring 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role managing BDR teams.
  • You have a strong track record of thriving in fast-paced sales environments and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience working in a scaling SaaS environment.
  • Experienced with inbound and outbound sales strategies, with a strong background in lead generation, pipeline management, and overseeing seamless handoffs to Account Executives.
  • You excel at creating and implementing training and coaching programs that empower your team to grow and succeed.
  • You know how to foster a collaborative, results-driven culture, inspiring your team to deliver their best work.
  • You’re great at building relationships across teams and with customers, and you bring exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to the table.
  • You know how to use metrics to optimize performance, and drive results.
  • You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves, contribute directly to sales efforts, and find practical solutions to challenges.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, improve workflows, and stay ahead of industry trends

Compensation


The base pay range for this role is CAD $125K + bonus structure (OTE of $180+) per year.
This is a Level 4 in Blue J’s career level framework. We use levels to define the expected scope, autonomy, impact, decision-making, and experience for each role. Final compensation will be set fairly and thoughtfully based on experience, expertise, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. While all candidates are expected to bring directly relevant experience, the top of the range is typically reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional depth in the role’s core competencies, a strong track record of impact in similar environments, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy from day one.
