Compensation: $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview 

We're seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Senior Property Maintenance Specialist to join our Central Columbus team. 

This position is responsible for maintaining apartment communities, and commercial properties through preventative maintenance, repairs, unit renovations, and emergency service. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting problems, works well independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift throughout the day. 

Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Complete maintenance work orders efficiently while providing exceptional customer service  
  • Perform apartment turnovers including painting, drywall repair, fixture replacement, and general repairs  
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances  
  • Complete appliance repairs and replacements as needed  
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout residential and commercial properties  
  • Install and repair doors, locks, trim, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, and other building components  
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment  
  • Maintain organized workspaces and company inventory  
  • Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues and communicate recommendations to management  
  • Maintain accurate communication regarding work order completion and project updates  
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency maintenance  

Qualifications 

We're looking for someone who possesses: 

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role  
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills  
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of maintenance issues  
  • Experience repairing residential appliances preferred  
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while adapting to changing daily responsibilities  
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  
  • Strong work ethic with excellent organizational and time management skills  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record  
  • Reliable transportation  

Preferred Qualifications 

While not required, the following experience is highly valued: 

  • Electrical certification  
  • HVAC certification  
  • Previous experience in appliance repair  
  • Residential and commercial property maintenance experience  
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance programs  
  • General knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, drywall, and carpentry
