The EHS Specialist is responsible for partnering directly with manufacturing leaders, associates, and support functions to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve Environmental, Health, and Safety performance across assigned value streams. Reporting to the Site EHS Leader, this role applies Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and problem-solving methodologies to identify risk, eliminate hazards, and improve operational performance.

This position reports to the Site EHS Leader and is part of the Environmental Health and Safety Department located in Logan, Utah and will be an on-site role.    

What you will do:

  • Partner with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations, continuous improvement activities, and site business objectives.
  • Lead risk assessments, safety observations, incident investigations, and corrective actions using DBS problem-solving tools to identify hazards, reduce risk, and strengthen a proactive safety culture.
  • Own assigned EHS management system elements and environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with Cytiva policies, regulatory requirements, permits, and reporting obligations.
  • Facilitate EHS training, coaching, and associate engagement activities while supporting leaders and teams in the development of safe work practices and compliance excellence.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and trends, lead improvement projects, participate in Gemba and Kaizen activities, and support execution of the Logan site EHS strategy through sustainable operational and compliance improvements.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or other regulated operations, with a working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management to drive risk reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and engage associates and leaders at all levels while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, are preferred.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. 
  • Bend, lift, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time,
  • Ability to wear steel-toed or composite footwear, safety glasses and cleanroom gowning,

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
