Accountabilities:

    The Category Manager, IT will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies across technology-related spend categories while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, supplier management expertise, and the ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders and internal teams.

    • Manage strategic procurement categories across technology portfolios, including cloud services, SaaS platforms, enterprise software, cybersecurity, infrastructure, AI platforms, IT services, and AV solutions.
    • Conduct portfolio analysis to identify financial opportunities, value creation initiatives, supply risks, and market trends.
    • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with organizational goals and procurement objectives.
    • Analyze spend data to identify pricing inconsistencies, cost optimization opportunities, consolidation strategies, and demand management initiatives.
    • Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop procurement solutions that support operational goals.
    • Manage supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance, and address service delivery or contract compliance issues.
    • Oversee contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, compliance management, and supplier negotiations.
    • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and competitive pricing analyses for technology categories.
    • Develop reports, dashboards, and insights to support procurement decisions and business planning.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders to drive procurement effectiveness.
    • Manage and develop procurement team members, providing leadership, guidance, and professional growth opportunities.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings strong procurement experience, strategic sourcing expertise, and the ability to manage complex technology categories while building trusted relationships across the organization.

      • Bachelor’s degree required; degree focus in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
      • 5+ years of procurement experience, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder engagement.
      • Experience managing technology procurement categories or IT-related spend is highly preferred.
      • Experience with eProcurement technologies and procurement operations.
      • Strong ability to perform data-driven category analysis, including spend analysis, market research, and supplier evaluation.
      • Demonstrated ability to create and execute category strategies and identify business value opportunities.
      • Experience managing contract lifecycles, compliance processes, and supplier performance.
      • Strong understanding of procurement processes, including purchasing and accounts payable operations.
      • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Experience using data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau or similar platforms.
      • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Ability to align procurement strategies with financial and departmental objectives.
      • Experience managing procurement professionals is a plus.
      • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or IT-specific credentials like CSAM are desirable.
