Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team of copyeditors, proofreaders, content engineers, and rights & permissions specialists within a dynamic publishing environment.
- Establish and optimize editorial processes, standards, and workflows to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Coordinate resources, schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects and product releases.
- Collaborate with curriculum, design, production, technology, and external partners to ensure successful content delivery.
- Manage contractor relationships, including sourcing, contracts, budgets, invoicing, and performance expectations.
- Participate in Agile planning activities and related ceremonies to support effective project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and develop solutions to maintain delivery timelines.
- Ensure published materials meet accessibility, technical, style, and quality requirements across print and digital formats.
- Oversee corrections, updates, and change management processes for existing products and releases.
- Train teams on emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance publishing workflows and operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across editorial and production functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, Communications, or a related field.
- 8+ years of editorial experience, preferably within educational publishing.
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, complex workflows, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience managing contractors, budgets, timelines, and production processes.
- Strong understanding of editorial and publishing processes across print and digital platforms.
- Experience with content management systems, digital asset management systems, and integrated publishing workflows.
- Experience incorporating AI tools into editorial or publishing processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks, including SAFe, is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Confluence.
- Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
