Job Purpose
Provide leadership, governance, and operational excellence for facility‑based fire/emergency response departments across multiple sites. Ensure compliance with municipal/city response contracts and deliver safe, reliable, and cost‑effective emergency response capabilities aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Leadership & People Management – Lead Fire Chiefs/Assistant Chiefs; manage staffing models; ensure performance, succession, and continuous improvement.
- Fire‑Related Program Management – Oversee Hot Work, Fire Watch, Emergency Response Planning, and Fire Prevention Awareness programs.
- Emergency Response Readiness – Manages emergency response plan for NA and creates strategy to train, test and improve; maintain drills, preplans, apparatus readiness, PPE, compliance with NFPA/OSHA.
- Fire Prevention Teams Lead – Ensure engagement across Weld/Casting and all sites; drive continuous improvement across all sites to ensure ownership of fire prevention tasks, local inspections, hazard identification, and guideline adherence.
- Municipal/City Contract Management – Oversee contracts, KPIs, relationships with Fire Marshals, EMAs, and public safety agencies.
- Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement – Standardize incident reporting, analyse trends, support RCA and integration into SOPs and preplans.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Coordinate with Site Leadership, Security, HSE, Facilities, HR, legal; support business continuity and emergency action plans.
- Operations, Compliance & Budget – Manage operational budget; ensure compliance with NFPA, company policy, insurance/underwriter requirements.
- StormGeo Severe Weather Oversight – Maintain alerting systems, testing, communication chain readiness, and training.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Comparable Honda manufacturing and/or Emergency services leadership experience can compensate for minimal educational qualifications.
- 8+ years of Fire Prevention, Safety experience or equivalent Honda manufacturing experience.
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), and Paramedic.
- EMR or Hazmat Technician Other certifications Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technicians (OHST),
- Safety Management Specialists (SMS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and/or Advanced Safety Certificate program completion are preferred.

Working Conditions
- Office/professional environment; regular use of computer, Microsoft Office applications, collaboration tools, and financial reporting systems.
- Requires focus, confidentiality, and accuracy during monthly/quarterly close, year-end reporting, audits, accounting-standard implementation, and special-project deadlines; overtime during peak periods (especially quarter-close and year-end).
- Travel approximately 0-5% for meetings, project support, audit/business reviews, or coordination with NA entities and partners.
