Strategic HR Project Partner

At Penske, our HR Project Management Office does things differently. This position goes far beyond traditional project management. We act as objective, internal consultants and thought partners to human resources and business leaders across our large business landscape. 

We are looking for candidates who enjoy complex problem solving, wearing many hats and strive to make the broadest impact possible in their career. You will lead projects supporting our HR initiatives across Benefits, Compensation, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Partner teams, Recruiting, Shared Services, Talent Development and Workforce Systems and Analytics. You will serve as a partner to our leadership teams for the full project lifecycle including brainstorming and scoping ideas, raising objective concerns, developing project plans and leading teams together to ensure seamless delivery of enterprise solutions. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional project teams through the planning, execution, and monitoring of critical HR initiatives

• Partner with HR leaders to define project scope, facilitate brainstorming sessions, create project plans and co-author proposals.

• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to evaluate business requirements and convert complex problems into structured, executable plans.

• Act as an objective, third-party advisor to cross-functional teams, comfortably challenging assumptions and providing well-vetted solutions to senior leadership.

• Build executive-level presentations and report project updates, operational risks, and final recommendations to senior leadership.

• Work alongside HR Change Management teams to ensure smooth operational adoption of new processes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Ability to work out of our Reading, Pennsylvania corporate office, 4 days per week, is required

• Experience leading initiatives or working in an advisory/consulting capacity 

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; you look past the surface of a request to find the actual business need.

• High emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to drive results through influence and navigate pushback without direct authority. 

• Comfortable using data and tools like Smartsheet to flag risks and guide executive decision-making.

Note: a background in HR or Project Management is a plus, but is not required
