What this job involves:
Drive strategic occupancy planning excellence as a Occupancy Planner or Senior Occupancy Planner with JLL, where you'll serve as a subject matter expert leading workplace optimization initiatives for Fortune 500 clients. You'll develop comprehensive occupancy strategies, sequence complex group-level and individual moves, and resolve critical planning challenges while ensuring maximum space utilization and corporate guideline compliance.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Drive development of occupancy plans and move sequencing strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines while maximizing space utilization across complex client portfolios
Foster critical relationships with Corporate Real Estate teams, Business Unit leadership, Corporate Finance, and Project Management to align planning strategies and resolve forecast discrepancies
Prepare comprehensive project status reports on actual versus projected seat demand, assemble top-down and bottom-up projections for annual planning horizons, and track occupancy metrics at building and group levels
Recommend, educate, and enforce space policies and standards while serving as subject matter expert on workplace programs and notifying clients of requested exceptions
Partner with move coordination, facility management, and occupancy planning teams to develop migration plans, conduct facility audits, and ensure cross-campus portfolio strategy alignment
Facilitate resolution of planning issues identified in customer meetings, reconcile projection discrepancies, and develop proactive solutions using occupancy metrics and industry trends
Assist in developing site-specific planning strategies with senior leadership, review planning approaches that drive construction projects, and support implementation initiatives
Client or JLL attendance will be required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or related field with strong experience in corporate environment experience
Demonstrated experience in space/occupancy planning at strategic level with deep knowledge of corporate real estate principles and occupancy optimization strategies
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex calculations) and AutoCAD capabilities for space planning, test-fits, and square footage calculations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to interact effectively with executive-level internal and external clients across organizational levels
Strong independent work capabilities with ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and adapt to dynamic team requirements while meeting critical deadlines
Familiarity with occupancy metrics, sharing ratios, and industry occupancy trends with ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to consolidate data and floor plans into compelling PowerPoint presentations for diverse stakeholder audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Facility Management systems for space planning and occupancy data management
Experience with interior office renovations and understanding of space design implementation processes within corporate environments
Track record of serving as subject matter expert and team leader within occupancy planning or corporate real estate consulting environments
Demonstrated ability to ask strategic questions, understand underlying client needs, and develop proactive, innovative solutions for complex stakeholder requirements
Experience supporting organizational transformation initiatives and workplace change programs within large corporate settings
Familiarity with emerging workplace technologies, data visualization tools, and business intelligence platforms for enhanced occupancy analytics
Min 5 Years' experience in similar roles
