As a high-performing individual contributor, you will apply and continue to enhance analytics capabilities, best practices, and processes to solve complex business issues and identify opportunities. What you’ll do
- Lead analytical workstreams or build analytical products that address complex business and platform questions.
- Extract and combine data from multiple sources independently to create robust datasets for analytics, measurement, and model development.
- Apply statistical and analytical techniques such as regression, ANOVA, A/B testing, causal impact, multivariate testing, clustering, logistic regression, and other appropriate methods to solve business problems.
- Select the right measurement or modeling approach for the question at hand, balancing speed, rigor, complexity, and stakeholder value.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical tasks, iterate based on findings, and favor practical, incremental delivery.
- Partner early with stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine business questions, identify the right data, shape analytical design, and align on relevant outputs.
- Build scalable reporting, dashboards, and repeatable measurement solutions that improve self-service and empower stakeholders to access insights more independently.
- Create clear visualizations, executive summaries, presentations, and technical documentation that communicate insights effectively to audiences with different levels of technical understanding.
- Write efficient, shareable code and documentation that supports reproducibility and can be reused by the wider team.
- Coach junior teammates on analytical thinking, statistical techniques, data storytelling, and best practices while continuing to raise the bar for the team.
Experience and qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- You have a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- You have 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree, or 4+ years of experience in a comparable data analytics role.
- You have demonstrable experience delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that drove change or performance improvement through multiple projects using different analytics techniques.
- You have advanced experience using SQL and at least one analytical programming language such as Python or R for data analysis, structuring, transformation, and visualization of large and complex datasets.
- You have experience delivering analytics projects across different business areas and demonstrate strong business acumen.
- You have experience framing complex business problems as analytics problems and breaking them into clear, manageable analytical tasks.
- You have experience communicating analytical goals, methodology, caveats, and conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You have experience writing advanced SQL, working across large datasets, and applying data quality, query optimization, and reproducibility best practices.
Preferred qualifications
- You have experience in platform analytics, product analytics, or analytics for internal tools and technical products.
- You have experience with supervised machine learning concepts and techniques and know how to partner effectively to validate and scale models for business value.
- You have experience with a range of statistical and measurement techniques, including experimentation, causal inference, regression, and multivariate approaches.
- You have experience automating repeated reporting tasks and building scalable dashboards that support multiple use cases.
- You have experience mentoring teammates and providing constructive feedback on analytical methods, visualization choices, and communication approaches.
- You have experience working with multiple SQL dialects, querying environments, or modern analytics platforms and can quickly evaluate and adopt new tools and datasets.
