We're looking for our next Machine Learning Software Engineer I to join our Machine Leaning Team. In this role you'll prototype and apply machine learning (ML) techniques to deliver Tech Soft 3D’s HOOPS AI product features and help industrialize end-to-end ML workflows using strong software engineering practices.
The role spans 3D CAD data preparation, literature review, experimentation, model training/validation, and deployment through production-grade APIs and tooling. The individual in this role will be a motivated engineer who can adapt to shifting priorities, learn quickly, solve technical challenges across AI and software engineering, and drive work from concept to production.
This position is based in France, with the option to work in-office or in a hybrid schedule from our Lyon or Sophia Antipolis office.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and maintain core libraries and APIs for the HOOPS AI toolkit
• Design, implement, and improve ML model architectures for HOOPS AI use cases
• Collect, clean, transform, and curate 3D datasets (CAD/B-Rep/mesh/point clouds as applicable)
• Build robust preprocessing pipelines for industrial 3D data (normalization, alignment, sampling,
labeling strategies, dataset versioning)
• Implement, run, and analyze experiments; maintain clean, reproducible code
(notebooks/scripts) and reliable evaluation protocols
• Collaborate on model training, validation, performance benchmarking, and regression testing
• Package and deploy models into production services (APIs, inference pipelines), ensuring
reliability and maintainability
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub; improve automated testing
and release workflows
• Document designs, experiments, and results; communicate progress and findings clearly in
English
• Collaborate effectively across engineering and product stakeholders and incorporate feedback
quickly

What We’re Looking For:
• Master’s degree in computer science, AI/ML, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• 1+ years of professional experience in software engineering and/or applied ML development
• Strong Python programming skills (testing, debugging, performance awareness)
• Experience with PyTorch
• Solid understanding of computer science and Machine Learning: data structures/algorithms, software design principles, training/validation/testing, supervised and unsupervised learning
• Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions (pipelines, artifacts, releases)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills; professional working proficiency in English
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Bonus Points If You Have:
• Experience with 3D geometry/CAD (B-Rep, meshes, point clouds) or computational geometry concepts
• Experience with 3D ML libraries or concepts (e.g., graph neural nets for B-Rep, point cloud networks, geometric deep learning)
• Experience with C/C++ (especially for performance-critical components or integration with native libraries)
• Familiarity with unsupervised and self-supervised learning methods
• Experience with databases and data tooling (structured and unstructured)
• Experience with parallelism (multithreading/multiprocessing) and performance profiling/optimization
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience working in an international company
• French language skills

The salary for this role is based on a combination of factors, including experience, education, and any special skills or expertise you bring. For individuals located in France, the pay range is €55,000 – €65,000/year.
