The best community managers don't just grow communities, they love the people in them. We're looking for a senior community leader who is as energized by a great member conversation as they are by a retention metric.

You'll run programs, build relationships, and manage the ecosystem that turns our 100,000+ members into a thriving community of small business owners, driving engagement, advocacy, and connection. You are deeply at home in digital communities: you know how to grow them, spot the members ready to become evangelists, and build an education and content engine that compounds over time, showing up in search, in LLMs, and in the research prospects are doing online. You're equally comfortable bringing community to life in person — running product-focused meetups, workshops, and activations that turn digital relationships into real ones. You'll inherit active programs with the space and mandate to build on what exists and bring new ideas to life focusing on community engagement and growth, product adoption, and top of funnel.

What You'll Do

  • Own the business outcomes for the community, defining what success looks like, setting metrics and holding yourself accountable to them.

  • Own and grow our core digital community platform, driving daily engagement, conversation quality, knowledge sharing, and meaningful peer-to-peer interaction.

  • Serve as community moderator and cultural leader: facilitate discussions, surface great member content, and run product-focused activations that bring the community together online and in person.

  • Develop strategies to convert active members into brand evangelists through recognition programs that spotlight community leaders.

  • Own the community LLM discoverability strategy ensuring community content is structured, indexed, and surfaced in AI-powered search results, so HoneyBook members and prospects find peer proof wherever they're looking.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, understanding their business needs, product pain points, and what makes them stay.

  • Raise the bar around you: mentor peers and collaborators, be the domain expert for community strategy across the company, and actively shape how HoneyBook thinks about and invests in community.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years in community management or community marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior IC or team lead role.

  • Proven track record building and scaling high-engagement digital and in-person communities at a SAAS or SMB brand, moving customers from passive to participant to advocate.

  • Experience designing and running live programming — meetups, workshops, activations — with the rigor to make it repeatable, not one-off.

  • Strong program design instincts: you build with measurement in mind

  • Excellent communicator, clear in writing, persuasive in presentations, effective with both executives and members.

  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and a proactive approach to integrating them into daily workflow.

  • Growth mindset and ownership instinct. No project is beneath you; no problem is someone else's to solve.

  • Familiarity with data infrastructure (CRM connections, Snowflake, LLM indexing) and a track record of partnering with technical teams to build it.

Exceptional candidates will also have:

  • Experience building programs that connect community engagement directly to product adoption metrics and top of funnel growth

  • Deep affinity for small business owners: photographers, event planners, designers, consultants, and other creative professionals.

The good stuff:

Mission-driven: You'll be joining more than just another startup. Our members’ success is at the heart of everything we do.

Impact: We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often!

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and meaningful equity grants.

Benefits & perks: From wellness programs to exceptional family leave policies, the health and happiness of our employees are foremost.

Our core values:

People come first: We prioritize people as we explore opportunities and work through challenges.
Raise the bar: We push for greatness—for ourselves, each other, and our members.
Own it: Trust and ownership let us make decisions with confidence.
We love what we do: We bring passion to our work and love what we create for our members.
Keep it real: Authenticity, respect, and transparency are at our core.
