Accountabilities
- Partner with engineering teams to improve the reliability, scalability, and operational health of production systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents, designing sustainable long-term solutions that improve platform resilience.
- Design, build, and maintain software, infrastructure, and automation tools that enhance production operations and developer productivity.
- Improve observability, monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational readiness across services.
- Develop high-quality production code while automating repetitive operational tasks and streamlining engineering workflows.
- Participate in incident response activities, lead post-incident reviews, and drive continuous operational improvements.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices that strengthen reliability, automation, and operational excellence across teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of Production Engineering as a technical discipline within the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience).
- Extensive professional experience developing and maintaining production software, with experience level aligned to senior or staff engineering responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, C++, C#, or similar.
- Proven experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, systems performance, and infrastructure reliability.
- Experience improving automation, observability, high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to influence technical direction and drive cross-functional initiatives without direct management authority.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, distributed storage, databases, or large-scale service networking is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering productivity practices is highly valued.
- Fully remote position within the United States.
- Competitive annual base salary ranging from $140,400 to $372,300, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
