Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of billing professionals, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and ongoing training.
- Establish performance expectations, monitor results, and implement improvement initiatives to achieve service and operational goals.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly invoices, billing adjustments, customer account updates, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Ensure billing workflows, procedures, and controls are consistently followed and aligned with organizational standards.
- Manage customer contract setup and updates within internal systems to maintain accurate billing information.
- Investigate and resolve complex billing issues by collaborating with customers, internal departments, and leadership teams.
- Support cross-functional initiatives involving customer service, credit and collections, and operations to improve issue resolution and workflow efficiency.
- Develop and maintain processes that improve department productivity, accuracy, and service delivery.
- Track, measure, and manage performance metrics while ensuring billing activities meet established targets.
- 2–4 years of progressive billing experience, including at least 1 year supervising employees or serving in a lead capacity.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and motivate teams to achieve performance objectives.
- Strong knowledge of billing transactions, processes, controls, and operational best practices.
- Ability to research complex situations, make sound decisions, and resolve issues with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with leadership, employees, and customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
- Experience establishing workflows, procedures, and performance standards.
- Ability to analyze metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
