Job Description

Seeking a Head of Strategic Finance & Resource Allocation, a senior executive to build and lead enterprise capability for forward-looking financial strategy and resource allocation decisions. This role provides decision support that guides strategic priorities, aligns investment choices with long-term value creation, and partners to ensure capital and resources are deployed against the enterprise’s highest-priority opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Guide enterprise capital allocation and resource allocation analysis across growth, cost, risk, and balance sheet priorities, extensively partnering with relevant stakeholders.

  • Frame and influence enterprise trade-offs across capital, cost structure, and growth investments, shaping MC- and BOD-ready decision inputs and narratives.

  • Provide forward-looking enterprise decision support to guide strategic priorities, resource deployment, and executive decision-making.

  • Leverage enterprise quantitative models, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and external risk perspectives to inform assumptions, options, and recommendations.

  • Deliver flexible and agile analytics solutions deployed to priority strategic problems, investment decisions, and emerging strategic questions.

  • In concert with Enterprise Strategy, provide strategic financial partnership to guide strategic initiatives and enterprise decision forums.

  • Deliver MC- and BOD-ready decision framing, executive materials, and recommendations that clarify choices, trade-offs, and implications.

What Success Looks Like

  • Forward-looking, scenario-based decision support is consistently used to guide enterprise priorities and leadership decisions.

  • Resource allocation choices are transparent, strategy-aligned, and grounded in clear trade-off analysis.

  • Executive teams spend more time making decisions and less time reconciling assumptions, options, or financial implications.

  • Priority strategic questions receive timely, agile analytics support that clarifies choices and accelerates action.

  • MC- and BOD-ready materials clearly connect strategy, financial outcomes, risks, and recommended actions.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Deep financial analysis, enterprise FP&A, capital allocation, and resource allocation expertise.

  • Strong executive decision-framing skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear choices, trade-offs, and recommendations.

  • Experience leveraging scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and external risk perspectives to inform strategic decisions.

  • Strategic vision and enterprise orientation, with the judgment to balance growth, cost, risk, and balance sheet priorities.

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across Finance, Enterprise Strategy, business lines, and executive leadership forums.

  • Strong communication and executive presence, including experience developing MC- and BOD-ready materials.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing analytical teams.

  • MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced finance, strategy, or quantitative credentials.

  • Experience spanning both strategy and finance, ideally in an enterprise or corporate finance leadership capacity.

  • Experience leading capital allocation, strategic finance, or resource allocation functions at a large financial institution.

  • Familiarity with bank balance sheet dynamics, regulatory expectations, economic outlooks, and enterprise risk considerations.
