Head of Local Operations, Pharmacovigilance
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader for the role of Head of Local Operations, Pharmacovigilance. This is a senior opportunity to lead strategy, business growth, operational maturity, and client engagement across a globally evolving Local Pharmacovigilance service line.
This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to sales targets, revenue budgets, and gross profit expectations, while strengthening service readiness, delivery models, and organizational capability. The successful candidate will build executive-level customer relationships, provide project oversight, develop new and expanded service propositions, and identify opportunities to enhance service line maturity, including through partnerships, M&A, and digital innovation initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
Key Responsibilities
Define, lead, and execute the Local PV Services strategy, including service portfolio, geographical expansion, and positioning, in alignment with broader strategic priorities
Translate strategy into measurable business outcomes
Own and drive business growth, including pipeline development, opportunity identification, and conversion to support sustainable revenue growth and increased market share
Be accountable for revenue delivery and gross profit performance, including proactive management of utilization, pricing, delivery models, and cost base
Define and implement corrective actions to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded
Lead business development activities in close collaboration with Commercial, including client engagements, proposals, and strategic account expansion
Build and maintain senior and executive-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting long-term business growth
Define and implement the global resourcing strategy, including workforce planning, capability building, location strategy, and scalable delivery models
Own hiring, staffing, and talent development strategies to ensure the right capabilities, capacity, and leadership pipeline are in place
Drive resource optimization and operational efficiency, including utilization management, skill mix evolution, automation opportunities, and continuous improvement of the delivery model
Ensure proactive alignment between pipeline, demand forecasting, and resourcing to support growth without capacity constraints
Lead collaboration with GCS, GPS, and regional and country commercial leadership to drive strong business alignment and client value creation
Provide strong leadership across Local PV Services, ensuring high performance, accountability, capability development, and retention of top talent
Act as a change leader, driving adoption of the global operating model and embedding transformation initiatives that improve growth, scalability, and profitability
Contribute to and drive strategic initiatives, including M&A, partnerships, and innovation, to expand service capabilities and market differentiation
Ensure cost-effective management of global resources and project staffing while balancing delivery excellence with financial performance
Actively engage with other PALs to ensure collaboration and synergy across processes, resources, and technology
Take on additional reasonable tasks aligned with business needs and the scope of the role

What you'll have:
University degree in Life Sciences
Extensive professional experience in industry or a related area of responsibility
In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry market
Strong expertise in financial and business acumen, strategic leadership, solution-focused problem solving, and change management
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels internally and externally
Strong analytical mindset with experience assessing and improving complex delivery models
Proven experience leading, mentoring, managing, and motivating staff
Ability to lead large international and/or complex project teams and achieve commitment in challenging change environments
Strong client relationship management skills, including experience engaging with C-suite stakeholders
Ability to clearly communicate strategic goals and the value of collaboration
Business fluent English
