Accountabilities:

    The Engineering Manager will lead an engineering organization focused on building reliable, scalable, and customer-critical systems. This role requires strong technical judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to deliver impactful solutions.

    • Lead and develop an engineering team of 8+ engineers responsible for checkout systems, order management, and post-order experiences.
    • Provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
    • Act as a key engineering partner for multiple teams across the organization, managing dependencies, priorities, and communication.
    • Establish clear frameworks for prioritization and execution to support high-volume product initiatives.
    • Drive platform modernization efforts while balancing architectural improvements with customer-facing delivery needs.
    • Own engineering execution from roadmap planning and technical strategy through delivery, team development, and operational excellence.
    • Partner with product, design, data, and engineering leaders to define future infrastructure capabilities.
    • Hire, mentor, retain, and support the professional growth of engineers through coaching and career development.
    • Promote strong engineering practices, collaboration, and a culture of ownership and accountability.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate has extensive software engineering experience combined with proven engineering management capabilities. Success in this role requires technical depth, strong communication skills, and experience leading teams through complex, large-scale engineering challenges.

      • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineering teams of 8 or more engineers.
      • Experience building and scaling backend systems in high-traffic production environments.
      • Background working with transactional systems such as e-commerce platforms, order management, checkout, payments, or similar domains.
      • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
      • Experience creating and executing technical roadmaps that balance platform evolution with continuous product delivery.
      • Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
      • Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, reliability, and platform engineering principles.
      • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Experience operating effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
      • Preferred experience with marketplace platforms, commerce infrastructure, payment systems, or large-scale customer-facing applications.
