About the Role
The SOX Manager is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls in line with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements, including SOX and related standards. This role reviews, develops, implements, and maintains controls across processes, systems, financial statements, journals, and reports; identifies control gaps and drives timely remediation; ensures process documentation is regularly updated; and supports internal and external audit requirements, including management attestation activities. The role also manages a small team, sets priorities to address operational needs, and oversees team performance through objective setting, reviews, and pay recommendations, with decisions guided by policies, resources, and business plans.
Responsibilities
· Lead the annual SOX testing lifecycle, including planning, coordination, execution, reporting, and close-out of management testing for key financial controls.
· Own and maintain the internal controls framework, including RACMs, narratives, and flowcharts, ensuring accurate documentation across significant finance processes.
· Ensure comprehensive control coverage across P2P, O2C, R2R, and other relevant finance processes in line with SOX, ICFR, and financial statement assertions.
· Conduct walkthroughs for in-scope financial processes to identify key controls, assess risks, and validate assertion coverage such as completeness, accuracy, and existence.
· Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of manual and automated controls to ensure they prevent or detect material misstatements.
· Lead deficiency assessment, remediation planning, tracking, and re-testing to ensure timely resolution and effective control performance.
· Act as the primary liaison with business stakeholders, management, external auditors, and internal audit teams to support smooth audit coordination and compliance alignment.
· Manage SOX testing delivery and a small team, balancing individual responsibilities with oversight, review, stakeholder training, process improvement, transformation readiness, and ITGC collaboration.
Requirements
· Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or possess a professional accounting and/or auditing qualification.
· Bring over 8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, SOX compliance, internal controls over financial reporting, audit, compliance, or a similar field.
· Demonstrate 2–3 years of leadership experience, including managing a small team of 2–4 people and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
· Have strong working knowledge of key systems and tools, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion, Oracle, and an understanding of IT general controls.
· Communicate effectively in spoken and written English with a high level of clarity and professionalism.
· Work effectively within multi-location and global teams across different time zones.
· Apply advanced stakeholder management and engagement skills to support collaboration, alignment, and effective delivery.
· Demonstrate strong integrity and the ability to speak up, escalate potential control issues promptly, and quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools to support technical workflows and business objectives.
This role requires to work in Hybrid mode and in shifts from 1pm-10pm (UK Shift Timings)
