Medication Management Informaticist
The Pharmacist Informatics position serves as a strategic business partner to clinical informatics and practice for creating technical solutions to medication related problems and improvements. They participate and support the analysis, feasibility, selection, implementation, maintenance & support of medication management related HIT systems. Responsible for the management and delivery of medication related data, information and knowledge. Responsible for the development and management of medication related reporting & analytics. Responsible for leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and medication management related projects. Interacts, communicates and collaborates effectively across diverse teams, disciplines and departments. Actively promotes, facilitates and participates in medication use process supporting technology research and educational activities. May be required to provide on-call support.
This open position is on the Pharmacy Informatics Reporting Team. The team is responsible for medication-related reporting in Epic (e.g. SlicerDicer, dashboards, metrics, reporting workbench reports, Caboodle, Clarity), as well as reporting and analytics for ancillary systems including BD Pyxis, BD logistics, BD CII safe systems, pharmacy purchasing data, operating room medication systems, retail pharmacy systems, inpatient automation technologies, and other medication management technologies.
It is anticipated that the selected candidate will spend approximately 50% of their time supporting medication therapeutic strategy reporting initiatives and the other 50% of their time developing advanced analytics dashboards and reports for clinical, operational, quality, and research initiatives.
Previous Epic Willow Inpatient certification or proficiency is required. The candidate will be expected to know or learn to utilize SQL as a core competency for report development and analytics. In addition, the candidate will be expected to obtain four Epic certifications and/or proficiencies within the first six months of employment including: Epic Cogito, Epic Caboodle, Epic Clarity, and Epic Clinical Data Model.
Pharmacist members of Pharmacy Informatics Reporting team share responsibility for precepting the PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency reporting rotation. The selected candidate will be expected to participate in resident education for reporting-related rotations with the other pharmacist members of the team.
This position is a hybrid role, and the candidate must live within 100 miles of any Mayo Clinic site in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, or Arizona. On-site days will be purpose-driven and may include activities such as collaboration with colleagues, practice shadowing, and workflow observation. On-site requirements are estimated to be approximately two days per quarter.

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree (or Pharmacy BS degree if graduated before 2000).
- Completion of an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in pharmacy informatics; or accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and 2 years applicable pharmacy informatics or pharmacy practice experience; or a minimum of 4 years applicable pharmacy informatics or pharmacy practice experience.
- Applicable experience includes providing progressive services in clinical informatics and pharmacy practice.
- Proven history of successfully working in a team environment.
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications.
Preferred: Completion of an informatics related certification or advanced degree program: Deep understanding of core pharmacy operations and has developed expertise in managing end - end medication use management supporting systems. Experience with leading multidisciplinary teams and projects and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
License/Certification: License to practice Pharmacy in assigned work area. Relevant application or system certification may be required.
