Risk Analyst
TerraPower is seeking highly talented and motivated candidates for the position of Risk Analyst. This role reports to the TerraPower Project Management Office under either the Enterprise Risk Management or Project Risk Management Program. This person plays a critical role in evaluating, managing, and mitigating risks within the TerraPower Risk Program in either a project management or corporate risk management capacity. This position involves working closely with project and/or corporate teams to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into challenging execution strategies.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned)
- Conduct thorough assessments of risk situations including operational capacity, cost, quality, and schedule analysis
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and protocols specific to project risk management, corporate risk management, or insurance risk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and/or corporate teams, to ensure comprehensive risk mitigation strategies are developed or in place
- Serve as Risk representative to project teams
- Guide project teams in documentation strategy to support the risk management process
- Monitor subcontractor or partner information to identify risk situations and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Implement risk tools and processes to develop project risk registers
- Facilitate risk management within project and corporate teams to ensure adherence to risk procedures
- Perform complex analytical assessments in support of complex risk development and or in support of project or corporate goals, i.e. quantitative analysis, probabilistic analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.
- Stay current on industry trends, software products, and regulatory changes affecting project, and enterprise risk management in the nuclear industry
- Risk tool administration, management, and development: Maintain and enhance the suite of tools and templates used for risk identification, assessment, analysis, and response planning. Ensure these resources are easily accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with industry best practices
- Partner with project teams, Legal, and/or outside consultants to evaluate responsibility of different parties in a claim situation
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- 12-15 years of experience in risk management, with a strong focus on project risk management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience facilitating risk management sessions
- Familiarity with risk management methodologies and tools, such as ISO 31000 and COSO
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-RMP (PMI Risk Management Professional), or CRM (Certified Risk Manager) desirable
- Advanced degree in risk management, engineering, finance, business administration, or a related field is desirable
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools, i.e. Active Risk Manager
- In-depth knowledge of the nuclear industry, nuclear industry-specific regulatory requirements and standards (i.e. DOE G 413.3-7A), EPC agreements, and nuclear power design principles

Salary Range: $168,316 - $252,475
Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
