We bring together cross-disciplinary minds to invent, prototype, and deliver products and platforms that connect billions of people worldwide.As a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the specification, design, prototyping, and deployment of cutting-edge hardware systems. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in developing and designing high-reliability and precision mechanisms while considering a broad range of business and hardware requirements, including materials, manufacturability, form factor, and integration of technologies with elastomers and soft goods. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a history of building robotic mechanisms.
**Required Skills:**
Product Design Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Work across the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production
2. Design mechanisms with tendons, pneumatic, and/or motor control
3. Manage suppliers for prototypes and production of parts
4. Able to manage the schedule of your parts in concert with the full program's schedule
5. Partner effectively with a cross-functional team of engineers and researchers
6. Work daily with electrical, firmware, and controls engineers on motor integration, sensor packaging, and mechanism bring-up
**Minimum Qualifications:**

7. Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience
8. 2+ years of experience in developing robotics mechanisms
9. 3+ years experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar) and 2D Drafting with GD&T
10. Experience working cross-functionally to rapidly prototype new concepts
11. Experience designing for CNC machining, EDM, injection molding, die cutting, and laminating

12. Experience in managing component vendors
13. Experience planning and executing Design Of Experiments
14. Hands-on experience selecting and optimizing motors and gear trains
15. A master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
16. Experience developing robotic end effectors that include elastomers and textiles

**Public Compensation:**
$118,000/year to $170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
