Senior System Engineer

Quantum ArtFull-timePosted May 27, 2026

Quantum-Art is a full-stack quantum computing company focused on the development of cutting-edge quantum computing systems based on trapped-ion technology, integrating advanced physics, hardware, control systems, electronics, software, and system-level architecture to deliver scalable quantum computing solutions.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior System Engineer to lead and drive the development of complex, multidisciplinary quantum computing systems. This is a full-stack system engineering role, requiring deep expertise across multiple engineering domains and strong leadership throughout the entire system lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned system engineer with extensive hands-on experience, strong methodological background, and proven leadership in complex system development and technical reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system engineering activities across the full product lifecycle — from concept and architecture definition through development, integration, verification, validation, and delivery.
  • Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, architecture, and trade studies.
  • Develop and implement system engineering methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Lead major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.) and ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including physics, hardware, electronics, opto-mechanics, control systems, and software.
  • Conduct risk management, system analysis, performance budgeting, and configuration control.
  • Support integration and verification activities for complex quantum physical systems.
  • Work closely with R&D and product teams to ensure system robustness, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Optics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in system engineering roles across multiple projects.
  • Proven experience leading the development of complex multidisciplinary systems end-to-end.
  • Strong knowledge of system engineering methodologies, processes, and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading formal technical design reviews.
  • Broad technical understanding across hardware, electronics, mechanics, control, and software domains.
  • Ability to operate in deep-tech, research-driven environments.

Advantages

  • Experience working within a System Engineering team.
  • Background in quantum physical systems or quantum technologies.
  • M.Sc. in Systems Engineering or related field.
