The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing activities at Intergalactic to help achieve strategic, contractual, and tactical milestones from the start of a new production program through final delivery of contracted intellectual and physical products to the customer. This role will assist in driving operations through clear and accurate documentation to support the successful completion of high-quality hardware. The Manufacturing Engineer will also contribute to process development and continuous improvement efforts that align with the organization’s strategic direction and long-term goals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing activities from program launch through product delivery.
  • Maintain clear communication across the project team to support program goals, tasks, and deliverables.
  • Assist day-to-day production floor operations and help resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturing, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, build books, standard operating procedures, and other process documentation.
  • Support tooling, fixture, and equipment design, installation, and improvement activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, hardware, tooling, and equipment to support production readiness and quality.
  • Assist with process development, production controls, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Support component and system assembly, integration, and test activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and suppliers to meet program objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related engineering field required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Aerospace, internship, co-op, or other experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, production operations, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications; GD&T and CAD experience preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, or build records preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
