Under general direction of the lab coordinator, independently performs END procedures in the laboratory, at the bedside, in critical care units and in the operating room on all ages of patients served by the department. The Senior Technologist performs complex patient examinations requiring extensive computer interaction and/or computation of recorded data, and provides technical descriptions of data. Assists in training of junior staff members. Assists in establishing and maintaining department procedures and protocols.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School graduate required. Associate Degree or higher preferred.
- Graduate of an electroneurodiagnostic technology program, accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation, or equivalent formal training is required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Eligible for/or successful completion of the Part I examination for registration by ABRET and or 1-3 years’ experience in EEG.
- CPR Certification, preferred.
Experience:
- Three to five years experience in END Technology is required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Moderate/heavy physical effort required. Must be capable of standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting and holding for extended periods of time.
- Universal Precautions Category I.
