Accountabilities:

    The Engineering Manager will oversee multiple engineering teams, ensuring strong execution, effective people leadership, and alignment between technical delivery and product objectives. This role focuses on empowering teams, managing resources, improving processes, and ensuring projects move forward successfully.

    • Own the complete people management lifecycle for engineering team members, including one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, career development, hiring, compensation discussions, and team growth.
    • Lead multiple engineering teams while maintaining accountability for team performance, delivery outcomes, and organizational priorities.
    • Ensure teams have the appropriate staffing, structure, and support required to achieve delivery goals and key performance indicators.
    • Develop and mentor Technical Leads by supporting their growth in technical ownership, design leadership, mentorship, and delivery accountability.
    • Manage software delivery execution by partnering with Product teams to define scope, prioritize initiatives, manage timelines, and address dependencies.
    • Act as the operational coordination layer between engineering and product teams, proactively identifying risks and resolving execution challenges.
    • Review project plans, estimates, designs, and technical approaches to identify potential delivery risks and ensure realistic commitments.
    • Hold technical leaders accountable for execution quality, design completion, and adherence to engineering standards.
    • Monitor project health indicators, including delivery progress, resource allocation, and overall execution risks.
    • Ensure deployment strategies and release processes are clearly defined before product launches.
    • Partner with Product Management to evaluate priorities, clarify requirements, and make informed trade-offs between scope, timeline, and resources.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency, delivery predictability, and software quality.
    • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, learning, and operational excellence across engineering teams.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical foundation and a proven ability to manage teams, deliver complex software initiatives, and collaborate across functions. They should have experience transitioning from hands-on engineering into leadership while maintaining technical credibility.

      • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong background as a technical contributor earlier in their career.
      • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams with direct responsibility for people leadership and software delivery.
      • Proven experience developing engineering talent through coaching, performance management, hiring, and career development.
      • Demonstrated ownership of software project delivery, including scope definition, scheduling, execution management, and successful outcomes.
      • Strong technical understanding of software architecture, engineering practices, development processes, and deployment workflows.
      • Ability to evaluate technical estimates, identify design risks, and ask the right questions during technical discussions.
      • Experience partnering closely with Product teams to define features, prioritize work, and navigate business and technical trade-offs.
      • Strong ability to identify delivery risks early and create effective mitigation strategies.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
