This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support nonconforming hardware control at our Kent, WA manufacturing site, you will own the day-to-day physical accountability and processing of nonconforming hardware that supports our Engines, New Glenn, Lunar, and Development programs. You will maintain the Material Review Areas in a clean, compliant, and well-organized state; execute scrap dispositions for hardware dispositioned through the nonconformance process; transport material between quality-controlled areas; and keep NC system records and work order documentation current and accurate. Your work directly supports the integrity of our nonconformance process and ensures that hardware is dispositioned without delay.

This role is hands-on and requires close attention to procedural detail. You will work alongside Quality Specialists, Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to process hardware efficiently, escalate discrepancies, and maintain a defensible audit trail for every nonconformance that passes through your area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receive, verify, and maintain physical inventory accountability of nonconforming hardware.
  • Transport nonconforming hardware between the shop floor and designated nonconformance locations following established handling, packaging, and FOD-control requirements.
  • Execute scrap dispositions for hardware dispositioned through the nonconformance process; perform or witness physical destruction/mutilation in accordance with nonconformance disposition requirements and record completion accurately in the NC system
  • Update NC system records and associated work orders to accurately reflect hardware movement, scrap execution, and disposition status; ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to NC closure
  • Enter hardware movements, dispositions, and material transactions into the inventory tracking system to maintain accurate material accountability records
  • Support stock check activities by physically locating and confirming the status of nonconforming hardware.
  • Support periodic quality system audits and compliance reviews by providing objective evidence of area operations, documentation completeness, and process adherence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • GED / High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, quality, or materials-handling role
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, traveler documents, and quality records
  • Familiarity with part identification, serial/lot number traceability, and controlled material handling concepts
  • Basic computer proficiency; ability to navigate quality management systems, NC systems, and inventory tracking systems for record lookup and updates
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, complete documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical material handling tasks in an active manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow written procedures precisely and consistently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with enterprise inventory tracking systems for hardware status confirmation and material transaction entry
  • Familiarity with nonconformance management or quality management systems
  • Knowledge of FOD prevention principles, 5S methodology, and manufacturing area housekeeping standards
  • Forklift, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain certification
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent quality management system requirements as they relate to nonconforming material control and traceability


 

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $75,289.00 - $105,404.25

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
