Accountabilities:
- Participating in on-call rotations to identify, investigate, and resolve service reliability issues across production environments.
- Acting as Incident Commander during major incidents by coordinating response teams, facilitating communication, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Creating and maintaining dashboards, alerts, and monitoring solutions to improve system visibility and operational awareness.
- Collaborating with development teams to improve application instrumentation, observability, and performance tracking.
- Developing automation solutions to eliminate repetitive operational tasks and improve engineering efficiency.
- Defining, implementing, and monitoring Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to measure reliability.
- Investigating complex customer-impacting issues involving performance, availability, and system behaviour.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- At least 4 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar production support engineering role.
- Strong programming experience with languages such as Java, Go, or Python for automation and engineering solutions.
- Good understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience managing applications with Kubernetes and troubleshooting containerized environments.
- Experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Practical knowledge of observability tools, including dashboards, monitoring, metrics, logs, traces, and APM solutions such as Datadog, New Relic, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Grafana or comparable visualization tools for system monitoring.
- Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries for debugging and investigating database-related issues.
- Understanding of database performance concepts with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and ability to remain effective during high-pressure incidents.
