Position Overview

Oracle is seeking a highly accomplished OCI Cloud Architect to join the North America Cloud Engineering organization. This strategic customer-facing role is focused on helping Oracle identify, develop, and win high-impact cloud opportunities, with particular emphasis on greenfield and pursuit accounts where customers are evaluating cloud modernization, infrastructure transformation, multicloud strategies, or new platform investments.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, sales teams, and Oracle leadership while helping open new opportunities, shape customer cloud strategies, and advance strategic pursuits from early discovery through technical win and customer adoption. This individual will work closely with sales to penetrate target accounts, build technical credibility with executive and practitioner audiences, uncover customer pain points, and design compelling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure solutions aligned to business outcomes.

This role is well suited for a customer-focused technical leader with experience in pre-sales cloud architecture, enterprise architecture, solution engineering, technical consulting, DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or architecture roles supporting mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate brings the ability to translate deep technical expertise into customer value, influence complex buying teams, and help customers build confidence in OCI as a strategic cloud platform.

As a recognized technical leader, the OCI Cloud Architect will influence customer cloud strategies, support Oracle’s largest and most strategic pursuits, and help customers realize the full value of OCI’s infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with sales teams to identify, qualify, penetrate, and advance strategic OCI opportunities across greenfield and pursuit accounts. 
  • Help develop account-entry strategies, technical pursuit plans, and customer engagement approaches that create momentum in new or underpenetrated accounts. 
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Infrastructure Leaders, Cloud Centers of Excellence, DevOps leaders, platform engineering teams, security leaders, and executive stakeholders. 
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer business objectives, existing environments, modernization priorities, operational challenges, competitive cloud considerations, and cloud adoption initiatives. 
  • Identify customer pain points, technical blockers, business drivers, and transformation opportunities that can be addressed through OCI’s cloud infrastructure, platform services, distributed cloud, and multicloud capabilities. 
  • Architect and present innovative OCI solutions that address customer requirements while demonstrating Oracle’s technical, operational, financial, and business differentiation. 
  • Develop executive-level presentations, solution architectures, technical proposals, migration strategies, modernization roadmaps, proof-of-value plans, and business value assessments. 
  • Serve as the technical lead for strategic pursuits, coordinating cross-functional Oracle resources to support complex customer engagements and accelerate technical wins. 
  • Design enterprise-scale cloud architectures spanning compute, storage, networking, security, containers, databases, AI services, observability, disaster recovery, automation, hybrid cloud, and multicloud environments. 
  • Lead customer workshops, architecture reviews, proof-of-concepts, technical deep dives, whiteboarding sessions, and solution validation activities. 
  • Help customers evaluate cloud migration strategies, application modernization initiatives, operating model changes, DevOps practices, and hybrid or multicloud architectures. 
  • Position OCI’s unique capabilities, including distributed cloud offerings, sovereign cloud, multicloud partnerships, enterprise-grade performance, security, availability, and cost efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, Partners, and Sales organizations to ensure successful customer outcomes from initial pursuit through adoption. 
  • Provide competitive intelligence, market insights, customer feedback, and field observations to influence Oracle’s product strategy and go-to-market initiatives. 
  • Mentor and guide less experienced solution engineers, architects, and technical contributors while promoting technical excellence across the organization.

  • Establish credibility as a trusted technical advisor with customers, Oracle sales teams, and cross-functional cloud stakeholders. 
  • Build strong relationships across Cloud Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, Engineering, Consulting, and Partner organizations. 
  • Demonstrate mastery of OCI services, architectures, competitive positioning, greenfield pursuit motions, and Oracle’s cloud value proposition. 
  • Partner with sales to penetrate target accounts, uncover new opportunities, and convert early-stage customer conversations into qualified cloud pursuits. 
  • Influence and contribute to multiple strategic cloud opportunities resulting in meaningful pipeline growth, technical wins, bookings, and customer adoption. 
  • Build executive and technical relationships within key target accounts and become a recognized subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, modernization, and enterprise transformation. 
  • Deliver impactful customer engagements that accelerate account entry, opportunity progression, technical validation, and OCI consumption. 
  • Create reusable technical assets, pursuit plays, reference architectures, best practices, competitive positioning materials, and enablement content that improve organizational effectiveness. 

Preferred Experience, Characteristics, and Technical Skills

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused technical leader with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and large-scale technology transformation initiatives. This individual combines strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business outcomes.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solution engineering, technical consulting, enterprise architecture, DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related technical leadership roles. 
  • Experience working in customer-facing or business-impacting technical roles where influencing stakeholders, shaping solutions, and supporting critical decisions were central to success. 
  • Proven ability to support complex enterprise technology sales cycles, strategic customer engagements, cloud transformation initiatives, or mission-critical infrastructure programs. 
  • Deep expertise in public cloud platforms, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, application modernization, automation, operations, and enterprise architecture. 
  • Experience designing, implementing, or advising on large-scale cloud migration, modernization, platform transformation, or critical infrastructure initiatives. 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, networking, identity management, security, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence. 
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Infrastructure Leaders, Cloud Centers of Excellence, DevOps leaders, platform engineering leaders, and business executives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex technical pursuits or transformation efforts involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise technology buying cycles, technical evaluation processes, operational risk considerations, and the factors influencing customer decision-making. 
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, storytelling, whiteboarding, and executive engagement skills. 
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in business terms and align cloud architectures to customer outcomes, transformation priorities, and measurable value. 
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence without direct authority across customers, sales teams, technical teams, and leadership stakeholders. 
  • Passion for customer success and a proven ability to build long-term trusted advisor relationships.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $118,700 to $194,400 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
